Here we have for sale our stunning Ducati 996SPS. Our example was registered in 1999, has had just 1 former keeper since being registered in the UK in march 2021 and has covered just 743 miles since then. The bike has just undergone an extensive recommissioning from a well know Ducati master also known as "Ducati John" back in 2021 and now sits in unmarked condition and sporting Foggy Replica Livery which the previous owner requested "Ducati John" to arrange. The invoice showing a total spend of £3,719 is included.

The bike is number 1113 of the limited production run and is fitted with the Termignoni exhaust system, carbon front mudguard, rear hugger, chain guard, exhaust guards. Also included is the full Ducati book pack including service book showing 8 stamps, owners manual, two keys and a selection of paperwork including an original bill of sale, numerous old MOT certificates and service receipts.

The 996SPS suffix stood for ‘Sport Production Special’. The engine was the same as the one used in the 916SPS but the weight was cut down considerably. The 996SPS produced around 124 bhp, more than the standard 996. The special SPS engine was much stronger than anything that Ducati had produced for the track. To ensure a distance was held between the standard 996 and the 996SPS Ducati designed a much higher specification chassis. The wheels were a five spoke design but were lighter than the standard three spoke design and in 1999 the rear shocks were made by high quality Swedish suspensions manufacturer, Öhlins with Showa front forks.
